A two-person paddleboat is perfect for some one who wants to cruise along the river or a lake and has the whole day for it.
You can sit in it facing each other and easily do 4 mph and with a little more exertion, the speed can be increased to 6-7 mph. A central nylon gears (patented) attached to a 12-inch propeller at 300 rpms gets you going. It can be steered by using fingertip tiller connected to a balanced rudder.
