Bicycle commuting is healthy, safe and cheap, the only emission is what the biker breathes out. But, it does have its problems. One is that bikes generally have a very awkward shape. If there is no bike rack or if you want to go somewhere with your bike, you’re have to drag a very burdensome package with you.
Well! What if there was a bike you could fold and carry or that you could take on the subway. That sure would be nice.

According to a review in Wired Magazine, one of the very best designs on the market is the Brompton M6L.
It’s a British contraption that folds up to just 10 x 24 x 32-inches in less than half a minute and weighs only 25 pounds. An additional pair of tiny luggage wheels makes it easy to drag the contraption around when transporting it in its folded state.
Traveling with a folding bike is not the most convenient way to travel but it sure can come in handy at times.

Very nice idea, but from the shape, this bike is not ergonomics at all. I bet, it’s not comfortable :)
Not so Dave. It rides just like any full-size bike, albeit a bit upright with the M bars (you can get the S6L with sportier bars) I’ve got 4 ”normal” bikes of differing kinds so can do a good comparison.
The small wheels with tyres at 100psi give a fairly hard ride, a lot of which is absorbed by the rear suspension block.
You need to look at the Brompton World Championships videos (UTube) to see how fast they go. :-)
these kinds of folding bikes are not only handy but also eco-friendly and efficient. great way for people who are always on the go.
great post. thanks for sharing it.
brilliant bicycles. the concept is excellent.
That folding bike is just plain amazing. But i think the picture of the airplane seat is a bit exaggerated. I don’t think they allow to you to bring such items on a plane.
nice bike! i like it.
Thats right you can’t bring these on a plane! But hey what a great gift it would make. So cool.
That’s really neat. I have never seen a bike before that were that foldable.
The photo isn’t a plane, but a european train carriage. You may need to pop it in a bag for this
